Monday - content day

Today I have been writing about the Gods, and are now in the process about writing about the Vikings and Aarhus.

We talked about getting all the content written today, and hopefully everybody will do so. We agreed to work untill 14 o clock. (Elmo was not here at 13.20)...???

Mads and Torsten worked outside the class because of all the noise and disturbances in the class, Ivan and Elmo sat inside and worked. Ivan came later as we agreed because of an job interview.

Because the webpage is going to be for kids, we are keeping the content simple and are trying to make the text descriptive. Fx. the ships were 30 meters, as long as 3 city busses.

day 3

We had a meeting with Malene, where we discussed the team contract, and how we should structure our time.
We discussed the categories and the sitemap, having a hard time because of the definitions of the categories, how kids would see that categories. We agreed that we would meet tomorrow and the train station and go to Moesgaard Museum to get some background knowledge of vikings and their equipment.
Today we made a shared document, a shared calendar and a shared blog.

I would like everybody in the group to write at least 5 lines each day, about what we did that day.

Rules about children that I found:

• Kids read directions. Children are much more likely than adults to stop and read the directions on a Web site. Each page should contain a prominent "Help" or "How to use this site" type link and a good frequently asked questions page.
  
  
• Out of sight is out of mind. Most younger kids don't understand about page scrolling, so be sure that your most important site information is visible without scrolling. If kids can't see an element or link without scrolling the page, then they may never see it at all.
  
  
• They click on ad banners! This may sound like a good thing, but Neilsen found that children have a hard time distinguishing between advertisements and content. They see an ad banner with a cartoon character and assume that it's a game or coloring page. Screen your advertisers carefully to make sure that kids aren't leaving your site to view inappropriate content.
